Chris Voss, Former FBI Lead International Kidnapping Negotiator
and Author of Never Split the Difference: Negotiating Like Your Life Depended on It
Chris brings decades of real-world experience in international crisis and high-stakes negotiation. Before founding his renowned consulting and training firm, he served as the FBI’s lead international kidnapping negotiator and represented the Bureau on the National Security Council’s Hostage Working Group. He also represented the U.S. at two G-8-sponsored international conferences as an expert in kidnapping negotiation.
Earlier in his career, Chris served as the lead Crisis Negotiator for the FBI’s New York City Division. Over his 24 years with the Bureau, he trained with the FBI, Scotland Yard, and Harvard Law School, and earned both the Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement and the FBI Agents Association Award for Distinguished and Exemplary Service.
